Group Encina · firms with roots

No one grows alone.

A group of accounting, tax and advisory firms that remain themselves, on a shared foundation of technology, organisation and people that none of them could build on their own.

Trust has roots.

If you have received our letter or our email, we wrote to you because your firm fits what we are looking for: an established practice with stable clients and an experienced team in tax, payroll and employment, accounting and corporate matters and, where the firm has one, a legal practice too. This page explains, in more detail than a letter or an email allows, who we are, who is behind the project and how we work. Any conversation is strictly confidential and without any commitment.

What Group Encina is

Like a dehesa: every holm oak keeps its own crown and all of them share the same soil

“The holm oak is the tree of this country: it lives for centuries, has deep roots and grows slowly, but it does not fall. In the dehesa every holm oak keeps its own crown and all of them share the same soil. That is how we understand the group: firms rooted in their own ground that remain themselves, on a shared foundation of technology, organisation and people.”
Roots

The firm stays where it is

With its name, its team and its clients. The partners stay in charge for as long as they wish. It is not transplanted: it is looked after where it has grown.

The shared soil

What no firm can have on its own

Capital, technology, organisation, specialists and new clients. The firm gains access to all of it without having to build it.

Evergreen

Continuity for clients

Green all year round. What the firm offers to those who trust it is that everything keeps working, and better, whatever happens.

Who is behind it

Advisers who have been integrating firms since 2018, and a technology-focused investor backing the project

The group's first firm

DAEM, a family-owned advisory firm founded in Barcelona in 1977

Almost fifty years advising SMEs, the self-employed and family businesses on tax, accounting, payroll and employment, and corporate matters. Run today by the second generation, with a team of around ninety people and offices in Barcelona and other cities in Catalonia.

Since 2018 it has integrated eleven firms and client portfolios. All of them are still operating, with their teams and their clients, and no transaction has been unwound. The way it is done, in tune with those who join and without disruption for their people, is the way the group works.

Technology has been part of its identity from the start: an in-house technology team, its own secure infrastructure, and a way of working that is already incorporating artificial intelligence without improvising. It also has its own legal practice, Legal 185, so firms with lawyers fit in too. And a family-business conviction: this profession has given it everything, and it wants to help those who are part of it to grow.

The investor backing the project

PSG Equity, an international investor specialising in technology

PSG is an investment firm specialising in software and technology companies, headquartered in the United States with offices in Europe, including London and Madrid. It manages more than 30 billion dollars and has invested in more than 160 technology companies, which in turn have integrated more than 500 businesses. Spain is its second-largest market in Europe.

It is not a distant investor. It has invested in companies that are already part of the daily life of many firms, such as Signaturit (electronic signature), Sesame (HR and time management) and Mapal (management software for hospitality). And in artificial intelligence it is an investor in Mistral, Europe's leading AI model company: in September 2026 it co-led its €3 billion funding round, the largest ever for a European technology company.

It knows this sector: it has experience supporting the consolidation of accounting and advisory firms in several countries, and it knows what technology is needed for a group of firms to work as one without any firm ceasing to be what it was.

In Group Encina it is the investor backing the project: it provides capital, financial strength and technology know-how. It does not buy or run firms. The people who lead the group, and who sit down with each firm, are advisers.

The way we do it

We integrate, we don't aggregate

Bringing a firm in is the easy part. The hard part, and what really matters, is truly integrating it: technology, organisation and people, with clients noticing nothing but an improvement.

We don't buy client lists: we bring teams on board

A client portfolio without the people who look after it is of no interest to us. We bring in the whole firm: the team, the way of working and, very often, the partners themselves, who stay on in the project.

A partner that understands technology

Ever-changing regulation, more demanding clients, the arrival of artificial intelligence. Facing it takes scale, investment and a partner that understands technology. The group provides that, with a clear view of where the profession is heading; the firm does not have to build it alone.

Excellence is an obsession

We are not a large group without a personality. We look for a good fit with those who join and an integration that is not disruptive for their staff or their clients. Integrating without losing an ounce of quality or closeness comes before any timetable.

The firm keeps growing

New services for its clients, clients from other offices in the group and a longer professional career for its team. This profession is short of talent; nobody is surplus here.

For the partner

Two paths, and in every firm each partner chooses their own

A few years ago almost every integration was about retirement. Today that is half of them. The other half are professionals in full activity who want to serve their clients better in an ever more demanding environment.

An orderly retirement

A fair return, continuity for your people and your clients, and a supported transition for as long as it takes. Leaving with peace of mind, knowing whose hands what you have built is in.

Carrying on, without facing what is coming alone

For those who want to continue, joining a larger project: structure, support, capital behind you and new clients. “I can't do it alone” is the sentence we hear most; the answer is not to stop being yourself.

Also for the sons and daughters who stay on in the firm and for the team: a more ambitious project and more of a career. The integration plan is tailor-made for everyone who is part of the firm, face to face and with complete transparency.

How we do it

Four steps, with no hurry and no script

  1. Talk

A coffee or a half-hour video call with the person leading the project, with no sales pitch. Listening to what you want for your firm, your team and yourself, and telling you who we are and how we work. If it makes no sense to go on, we will have met: this is a small profession and our paths always cross again.

  2. Understand

If we go on, we sign a confidentiality agreement and look at the firm together, calmly: the clients and how recurring they are, the team, the services, the way of working and the tools. Nothing leaves that room. It is what allows us to put numbers to a proposal that makes sense for both sides.

  3. Agree

We present a written offer with a clear price and payment terms, because the price matters: it is the value of a career. And with the role of each partner from then on, whatever their choice: staying in charge, supporting a transition or stepping back. If it fits, a letter of intent, a review proportionate to the size of the firm and a contract.

  4. Integrate

A tailored plan, with time and built with the people. The team stays, on its terms, and gains training, specialists and a longer path within a group. Partners choose their own way, and partners' children who join find a role of their own. And your clients notice only one thing: that everything works the same or better.

Absolute discretion. We know what it means for the profession to hear that a firm is talking to someone. No conversation is shared with third parties, the first contact is always personal and nothing commits you to anything.
